We recently spoke to a group of high school students about the engineering profession and the benefits of an engineering degree. We believe in giving back to the community and providing our insight and experience to younger generations to help them make informed decisions about their futures. Sessions like this remind us to not forget the wonder of the many STEM achievements that we have personally taken for granted over the years. When one stops and thinks about it, the oldest people today have lived through some of humanity’s greatest technological achievements, from powered flight and walking on the Moon to penicillin and the Internet. It’s this awe and enjoyment that STEM brings to us that we hope to pass on to other generations.
Some inspiring student comments:
“Your insights and advice have influenced the decisions I have made towards furthering my advancement in a potential career in engineering.”
“What you had to say has really made me think about what I want in engineering.”
