As you enjoy your 4th of July holiday celebrations, please pause to consider some thoughts regarding safety.

Like most systems engineers, we think of safety as an emergent property. Safety isn’t something you hold in your hands or decree, it’s a result. It results—or emerges—from the careful and deliberate integration of such things as law, standards, policies, specifications, processes, systems, equipment design features, environment, training, behavior, etc. All have to be integrated in the right way for safety to emerge.

So, whether you’re on a rig, in the shop, or out on the street with your kids along with that box of bottle rockets, take a moment to stop and think about how your safety and the safety of others emerges from many different elements that may not seem so obvious.

If you’d like to learn more about how to improve the safety of your well control equipment, let’s talk about systems engineering & integration. Call us at 281-378-1597 or shoot us an email. We can help turn around your existing project or ensure that you get the next one right.
